Thank you to everyone contributing to the Safe House Service Project! We are collecting till the end of the month, so please connect with me for drop-off/pick-up (at which time I can give you your pin/certificate)
Hope you are staying cool - glad we are able to stay in for Zoom meetings rather than go out in this heat!
Speaking of our meetings, we are working towards having one daytime, one evening and one service project per month. We are moving towards a regular schedule but it will take some time and adjustment.
Our goal is not so much to have less meetings, but to have productive meetings. I plan to have our committees meet more regularly to help move our club forward.
We had to make some changes for July meetings: Roberta's Geocache adventure will be rescheduled soon, but in the meantime we will hear updates tomorrow about the Maasai Girls fund and how we can help/fundraise with them.
Because Ann Walko, our District Governor is visiting on August 6, I rescheduled Shelter Box so that we would have time on July 30 to discuss the Strategic Plan and goals I proposed at the Installation Zoom, which we will then share with Ann when she visits.
If we have time I would also like to talk about Clubrunner and how to access it, especially for those who have never logged in.
See you tomorrow!
Statement from Rotary International
At Rotary, we have no tolerance for racism. Promoting respect, celebrating diversity, demanding ethical leadership, and working tirelessly to advance peace are central tenets of our work.
We have more work to do to create more just, open and welcoming communities for all people.
We know there are no easy fixes and that challenging conversations and work lie before all of us. Rotary’s strength has long been our ability and commitment to bringing people together. We will tap into that strength now as we stand with those who are working for peace and justice.
Rotary will do our part to listen, learn and take action to ensure that we continue to contribute to making positive change.
