A message from District Governor John Wilson, regarding the ROTARY ANNUAL FUND:
We have not reached our stretch goal of $240,000 in Annual Fund support. That would be the figure to maintain District Designated Funds at the current level when we get to the 2021-2022 Rotary Year. If you have not yet made an Annual Fund gift or if you are willing to make a small second gift, now is the time to do so. We are $40,000 under that goal. I hope you can help. I already made my second gift for the year.

FUN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES in AUGUST!
In August we have two very easy and fun opportunities for you! As you may know, our District 7475 sends students to Japan and also hosts students from Japan in the summer, and we have the opportunity to join our Japanese visitors for a trip to Point Pleasant. It's pretty easy, the bus takes us and brings us home and our club pays for beach chairs, umbrellas and food. Mark your calendar for August 8th and reply to this email if you are interested!
The other opportunity is to visit Camp Merry Heart, also in August, and enjoy the day with the campers and counselors, other Rotarians and a nice barbecued dinner.
Our Club donates carnival prizes and a DJ to the event - and every summer we offer a campership to a Nutley youth. It's always a fun time (Date: TBD)
Rotary Foundation Q&A by Bob Peters
Question: Why should I give to the Rotary Foundation?
Answer: 100% of our donations to the Rotary Foundation go towards our areas of focus!
That is because Rotary invests the donated money for 3 years and the interest on that money pays the administrative costs.
Our areas of focus are PROMOTING PEACE, FIGHTING DISEASE, PROVIDING CLEAN WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE, SAVING MOTHERS AND CHILDREN, SUPPORTING EDUCATION AND GROWING LOCAL ECONOMIES.
ROTARY is committed to ending Polio forever, and we are “this close.”
All Rotarians are encouraged to donate every year to help keep the Foundation fully funded. A $100 donation makes you a sustaining member. If we achieve an average of $100 per member per year, with all members donating, our club will be recognized at the District Conference.
