I hope everyone made it through the heatwave ok, and is enjoying our cooler weather today.
Friendship, community involvement, self-development and networking are the main reasons why most people join a Rotary club. Feeling included and being part of an organization that is making a difference is why we stay and get involved.
As President, I would like to know more about you and what motivates you to be part of our Rotary Club.
Each week at our meeting, I would like one member to take a few minutes to introduce themselves to the club. Tell us who you are, what you do and why you joined Rotary or share a Rotary story.
Please reply to this email or email me directly to let me know when you would like to share.
ALSO: Rotary International would like us to document the hours we spend on service to others, so please start keeping track, as of July 1, 2019, of your community service hours.
District Governor Ray Freaney throws out the first pitch at the Trenton Thunder fundraiser for End Hunger. Everyone who dared show up (Dorothy and James represented Nutley) had a great time despite the sauna-like heat!
FUN No-Cost VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES in AUGUST!
In August we have two very easy and fun FREEopportunities for you! As you may know, our District 7475 sends students to Japan and also hosts students from Japan in the summer, and we have the opportunity to join our Japanese visitors for a trip to Point Pleasant. It's pretty easy, the bus takes us and brings us home and our club pays for beach chairs, umbrellas and food. Mark your calendar for August 8th and reply to this email if you are interested!
The other opportunity is to visit Camp Merry Heart, on August 7, and enjoy the day with the campers and counselors, other Rotarians and a nice barbecued dinner.
Our Club donates a DJ to the event - and every summer we offer a campership to a Nutley resident. It's always a fun time!
